1 nightstand

Which everyday needs do a nightstand have to fulfill? The design of this nightstand is based on this questions. The wish to optimize a specific piece of furniture to a specific routine. The needs: A place to put your jewelry at nighttime and a place for hidden, private objects.

The levels in this table, reflects the need of availability. The dish above the tabletop, gives the user the opportunity to place small items, without the risk of losing them. The box is hidden away below the tabletop and allows the user to keep things at hand, without having to exhibit them.

The tabletop is Corian, a composite-material consisting of acrylic and natural minerals. The table is produced in FSC certified oak. 1 nightstand is designed and produced by Julie Wittrup-Jensen and Sofie Rueskov Sundby, as a design proposal for the contest FSC Awards 2016.
