Sagaru Lamp
The shape of the lamp, evolved from the question of how to connect two simple cone-shapes. This question became the construction principle, where a wooden-beam inside the top shade, has a slit that holds up the bottom shade.
Inspired by Japanese bookbinding techniques, the wooden-beams inside the top shade is bound together with thread. The design of the shades directs the light through the lamp and leaves a shadow on edge of the top shade, creating an atmospheric light.
The photos show two different variations of the lamp and the second one have been a part of the exhibition "Prototypes" at Studio X Store in Copenhagen.
